A Fundamental
Political Choice for the USA:
Confederated USA
of Anglo-American Patriot
States under the Articles
of Confederation versus Federal “Global Nation” Empire under the Federal
Constitution
The
USA has had two different constitutions with two different visions for America:
the Articles of Confederation (America’s original constitution) versus the
Federal Constitution (its replacement). The supporters of the former have been
called Anti-Federalists and the supporters of the latter Federalists. Patrick Henry was one of the foremost
representatives of the Anti-Federalists, while Alexander Hamilton was of the
Federalists:
Their
struggle was over which constitution and which vision would guide the USA. Even during the colonial era this contest
existed, at times the Anglo-American colonies effectively operating as
sovereign States, while at other times (especially in the years leading up to
1776) the British central government exercising greater control. The struggle
did not end when the Articles of Confederation were illegally
replaced by the Federal Constitution, because even in the Federal
Constitution the Anti-Federalists were granted the Bill of Rights (including
the Tenth limiting the extent of Federal scope) as Amendments to the Federal
Constitution, as a condition for Federal constitution ratification. However, this was a bad deal for the
Anti-Federalists because enforced by the very Federal government the
Anti-Federalists properly distrusted, and often led by the very party that had
disregarded legal procedure in amending the Articles of Confederation. It also
cemented a secularist direction. There has been throughout US political history
an on-going
struggle between the two. Few have
had the prescience of Anti-Federalist Patrick Henry in seeing where abandonment
of the Articles of Confederation and their replacement by the Federal
Constitution would inevitably lead. His
words on the matter shout loudly to us today: “It is radical in this transition; our rights and privileges
are endangered, and the sovereignty of the states will be relinquished: And
cannot we plainly see that this is actually the case?” The on-going
struggle itself has slowed the inevitable conclusion: a Federal “Global Nation”
Empire that becomes more and more of a secularist centralized police state. The
more diverse its population becomes, the more it will become a police state in
order to maintain a semblance of order, and the more it will be anti-Christian
in character. In truth, its conclusion
is a modern Babel.
We
have the advantage of time that those of Patrick Henry’s day had to foresee
from afar. Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg,
Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Beto O’Rourke, Nancy
Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc. are now explicitly telling us where they plan
to take it. Demographic trends, the
government bureaucracy, Big Business, the mainstream media, Hollywood, and the
educational establishment are all on their side. The Republican Party has been slowing down
the process, but has no strategy for substantively replacing it, because
unwilling to advocate for a return to the Articles of Confederation and a
nation-state (rather than a “global nation” Empire), along with a reasonable
path to get there.
The
other advantage we have over our forebearers is that God brings down every
Babel that raises its head, as both history and scripture testifies. Such a Babel has within itself the seeds of
its own destruction: economic, political (foreign and domestic), and moral instability
and bankruptcy. Ours is to work to build its replacement alternative edifice by
God’s grace, even as we watch Babel’s tower collapse. The replacement edifice
will in fact assist in hastening the latter’s fall.
The
alternative which can replace it then is a confederated USA of Anglo-American Patriot
States, under the Articles
of Confederation (America’s first constitution that was unadvisedly and
illegally abandoned), with America’s first national
flag (the Continental Colors or Grand Union flag) as the symbol of our
enterprise:
This
confederated USA can have partitioned out of the USA those liberal “blue” areas
in a sea of “red” areas that remain part of the USA, such as illustrated here:
In
order to reach this goal, the Anglo-American patriots of today can follow the
basic playbook of our patriot forefathers: create a network of Committees
of Correspondence of Anglo-American
patriots in every State of the USA. When large enough in each State, these in
turn can elect a council/assembly of leaders, which in turn can send delegates
to a restored Continental Congress, seeking a return to the Articles of
Confederation and listing its grievances with the Federal government.
The
centralized Federal empire over a “global nation” will fall, and the
confederated USA of Anglo-American
Patriot States, under the Articles
of Confederation, will rise in its stead. This confederated USA will be a
nation of and for the Anglo-American patriot people to God’s glory, not a
multi-cultural “global nation” Empire that only really serves the interests of
an elite few. States’ Rights will be the victor, and the long struggle of
Anti-Federalists against all human odds will be vindicated.
