2A CITIZENS MILITIA FOR MICHIGAN’S KENT COUNTY

The goal is to politically organize the 2A Citizens Militia for Michigan’s Kent County, which will be quickly convertible to a militarily organized militia if necessity should require.

All able-bodied Michigan citizens residing in Kent County who agree with the 2A principle (that the backbone of the US military order should reside in well-armed local and State citizens militias, as originally envisioned in the Articles of Confederation [America’s founding constitution]), and are 18 years or older will be eligible to join. Each Township in the County will have an annually elected Township Coordinator, who will report to an annually elected County Coordinator. Townships will be sub-divided into sectors, each with a team leader selected by sector team members in consultation with the Township Coordinator. It also lobbies County-area leaders on gun rights and associated issues and recognition of the County citizens militia, along with seeking to elect County-area leaders upholding gun rights and associated issues (like immigration control). There will also be a Minutemen Division that is a subset of the members and reporting to the elected County and Township Coordinators for purposes of rapid deployment and especial expertise for the same purpose as its existence in the American Revolutionary War, with a team leader selected by Minutemen Division Team members. Annual election of a Township Coordinator will begin when there are at least 100 members in a Township, and annual election of the County Coordinator will begin when there are at least 250 County members. Until then Coordinators will be selected by volunteer appointment.

Should other Michigan Counties form County Citizens Militias, the County Coordinators will form a State Council and annually select a State Coordinator from among themselves. The long term goal is to gain State recognition and oversight, along with enhanced military organization, to this network of County Citizens Militias and their elected leaders. They would help to protect the State from Government tyranny, protect State borders and control immigration, and uphold gun rights and other historic Anglo-American liberties, as required by the Articles of Confederation (the USA’s original constitution which protected States’ Rights but was illegally abandoned) and consistent with 2A.

Why should the 2A effort also include a restoration of well-armed citizens militias for Kent County as well as other “red area” Counties in Michigan?

What is the historical background for the constitutional duty of such County citizens militias, joined together composing a State militia?

“The history of militia in the United States dates from the colonial era, such as in the American Revolutionary War.^[90] Based on the English system, colonial militias were drawn from the body of adult male citizens of a community, town, or local region…In colonial era Anglo-American usage, militia service was distinguished from military service in that the latter was normally a commitment for a fixed period of time of at least a year, for a salary, whereas militia was only to meet a threat, or prepare to meet a threat, for periods of time expected to be short. The Articles of Confederation (the USA’s original constitution which protected gun and States’ Rights but was illegally abandoned ) required citizens’ militias for every State, and hence for every County: “... every State shall always keep up a well-regulated and disciplined militia, sufficiently armed and accoutered, and shall provide and constantly have ready for use, in public stores, a due number of field pieces and tents, and a proper quantity of arms, ammunition and camp equipage.”

2A (along with the other Bill of Rights) was added to the new Federal Constitution to try to preserve the gun and States’ Rights found in the Articles of Confederation, reading thus: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The first Federal legislation on the subject following ratification of the Federal Constitution was the Militia Act of 1792 which provided, in part: “That each and every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age of eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years (except as is herein after excepted) shall severally and respectively be enrolled in the militia,... every citizen, so enrolled and notified, shall, within six months thereafter, provide himself with a good musket or firelock.” - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militia#United_States

What is the current threat that calls us to renew our constitutional duty to form citizens’ militias in every “red area” County in the USA?

Liberal Democrats, along with even some establishment Republicans, are pursuing an open borders, gun-confiscating socialistic agenda, seeking to turn every “red” State into a “blue” State, as they are already successfully doing in California, Illinois, Virginia, etc.

Grass roots patriots need to stand up and thwart this tyrannical agenda that leads to disaster, as has already begun in the 2A Sanctuary movement, Vexit movement, etc.
