Galatians 3:24-29:

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God has created a social order in human society which includes distinctions by gender, economic class, and ethnicity/race.  The Bible is replete with evidence that God intends to maintain this social order and not replace it with a radical form of egalitarianism.  Examples of how He has not done away with gender distinction are I Timothy 2:11-15 (“11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.”) and I Corinthians 14:34 (“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.”).   Examples of how He has not done away with economic class distinction are Mark 14:7 (“For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.”) and Proverbs 10:4 (“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”).  And examples of how He has not done away with ethnic/racial distinction are Romans 11:12 (“Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?”) and Titus 1:12 (“One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.”).  Seeking to erase these distinctions, such as is being attempted in the modern Babel of the USA, leads to confusion. The US government essentially pays US seminaries to fall in line with the radical egalitarian agenda (see http://www.puritans.net/articles/ats.htm).  Nevertheless, such an effort is destined to fail, because it runs entirely contrary to the divinely ordained social order.

Rather than overthrowing this divinely ordained social order, Galatians 3:28 implies this social order will be maintained, but with a very important qualification with respect to salvation and church membership.  Galatians 3:28 is saying that irrespective of one’s place in the divinely ordained social order (whether male or female, whether bond or free, whether Jew or Gentile), one can be a saved member of Christ’s church.  No longer, for instance, is God’s church limited to mainly one ethnic people (the Jewish people) like it was under the Old Testament.  That means, contrary to the erroneous doctrines of the Judaizers, that Gentiles did not have to become Jewish in order to be saved and a member of the church. Faith in Jesus Christ is the entryway for all such that would be saved members of the Christian church.  But there is nothing in Galatians 3:28 that suggests that all distinctions relating to ethnicity/race, gender, or economic class are merely aged social constructs to be discarded in the Christian era.  Social progressives have wickedly twisted this verse and similar ones to promote a social agenda that is alien to God’s word the Bible.  The radical progressive egalitarianism of social progressives, which they often dub “social justice”, is not Biblical justice at all.  Biblical justice recognizes where all people are properly equal and to be treated equally, while it also recognizes where distinctions are to be maintained.

Even in the eternal order after Christ’s return there will not be a radical egalitarian order.  There will be a heaven for the elect and a hell for the non-elect.  Even in heaven, there will be a social order (Matthew25:14-30).  And there will be distinct ethnic nations of the elect (see Revelation 21:24).  Christians ought not to be fooled by the Satanic ploy of radical progressive egalitarianism.  God has created a social order, and man has no right to complain.  “Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?” (Romans 9:21)  It is a mark of unconversion if someone is bitter with divine appointment. We must be graciously content with what God has provided.
