Immigration Crisis in the USA by J. Parnell McCarter
'We’ve never seen anything like this': As Trump threatens to close border, migrants overwhelm Texas cities was the headline of the recent news article at https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/03/30/migrants-overflow-border-federal-facilities-local-strain-wall-trump/3309462002/ .
Notice in that article who helps these illegal immigrants in the caravan when released to settle all over the USA:
"In McAllen, migrants deemed to have credible asylum cases are released to the Catholic Charities respite center, where they’re allowed to shower, given medical attention and helped with getting a bus or airplane ticket to their final U.S. destination."
Who is helping them in Mexico to make their journey to the USA?
"Mexicans are pitching in to ease the travelers’ journey. Residents along the route say they are motivated by the Catholic tradition of charity, a shared familiarity with migration to the United States and a sense of solidarity in the face of Trump’s anti-migrant rhetoric. " -
In other words, the Catholic Church is getting its people to help them do this. Also see https://www.crs.org/our-work-overseas/where-we-work/mexico regarding Catholic Relief Services’ role.
And who is the major funder of Catholic Charities:
"In 2010, Catholic Charities had revenues of $4.7 billion, $2.9 billion of which came from the US government. About $140 million came from donations from diocesan churches, the remainder coming from in-kind contributions, investments, program fees, and community donations. The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington holds a fundraising gala every year and raised $2.4 million in 2017." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Charities_USA
That is right : US taxpayers. US taxpayers are paying the Roman Catholic Church for the privilege of becoming a Third World Roman Catholic nation.
