THE FOURTH DAY MILLENNIUM
We know that the world was created around 4000 BC, and I have guessed it was created in 3967 BC. In articles such as http://www.puritans.net/news/millennium041707.htm , I have explored how “the Book of Genesis anticipates later divisions of time into millennia.” More specifically, there seems to be “an analogy between the six days of Creation in Genesis 1:1–2:3, which are followed by the final seventh day, the Sabbath, upon which God rested from his work, and the periods of human history that would last precisely six thousand years, followed by a final seventh "day," or millennium—a final thousand years, which like the Sabbath day, would be characterized by peace and rest.” Applying that concept to my guessed year of creation in 3967 BC, the millennia of history would fall like this:
3967 BC – 2967 BC : “First day” millennium
2967 BC – 1967 BC : “Second day” millennium
1967 BC – 967 BC : “Third day” millennium
967 BC – 33 AD : “Fourth day” millennium
33 AD – 1033 AD : “Fifth day” millennium
1033 AD – 2033 AD: “Sixth day” millennium
2033 AD – : “Seventh day” millennium
If this is correct, what a glorious millennium was the
“fourth day”! It began with the reign of
the son of David, Solomon, who built a magnificent
“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that [it was] good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” – Genesis 1:16-19
“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings…” – Malachi 4:2
The Genesis passage suggests not only the establishment of a kingdom of righteousness under Jesus Christ during the fourth day millennium, but also the establishment of a kingdom of darkness under Satan. In the same millennium when Christ’s kingdom was specially established upon earth, Satan’s kingdom in direct competition was also specially established, in the form of the Babylonian kingdom and its successors:
“… thou shalt
take up this proverb against the king of
“…And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another…The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces…” – Daniel 7
If this interpretation of the data is indeed correct regarding the fourth day millennium, we can only sit in amazement and say: “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!”
