Israel is Jesus Christ, according to Hosea 11:1.  (When Israel [was] a child, then I loved him, and called my Son out of Egypt. -  Hosea 11:1.  See also Matthew 2:15.   Jesus Christ is the Israel of God, of whom Old Testament Israel was a type.)

Jesus Christ is metaphorically the Rising Sun, according to Malachi 4:2.   (“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”)

Hence, Israel is metaphorically the Rising Sun.

Hence, the Land of Israel is equivalent to the Land of the Rising Sun.

So where is the Land of the Rising Sun?

“From the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name [shall be] great among the Gentiles…”-  Malachi 1:11

Have you ever wondered about…

  • What happened to the descendants of the Table of Nations in Genesis 10-11?
  • How you relate to the people mentioned in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10-11?
  • How your ancient pagan ancestors lived?
  • What happened to the 10 lost tribes of Israel?

Ancient literature helps answer these and many other questions.  Students explore the answers to these types of questions in literature courses taught over the internet by Westminster Covenant Academy (see http://www.puritans.net/Westminster_Covenant_Academy/courseofferings.htm ).

In Spring 2005 we offer 2 such courses:

  • Introduction to Ancient Literature
  • Ancient Literature, Ancient Chronicles I (this course builds upon information studied in Introduction to Ancient Literature)
