We read in Revelation 16:12 how the kings of the East are released against “Babylon”, as part of the Beast’s war against the mysterious “Babylon” (Revelation 17:16).  This implies some sort of alliance between the Romish Beast and the kings of the East.  This alliance is currently reflected – at least in part – in the Arab League.  As we have reported in other Puritan News Weekly articles, the Vatican sits on the Arab League [see http://www.puritans.net/news/vatican011503.htm , for example.]  As reported at http://www.arabicnews.com/ansub/Daily/Day/000209/2000020975.html,  Monsignor Giglio was appointed as a Vatican representative in the League in 2000:

Vatican appoints representative to Arab League
Regional-Vatican, Politics, 2/9/2000

Pope John Paul II appointed Tuesday Monsignor Paolo Giglio as the holy see representative to the Arab League, reported the Italian News agency ANSA.

The appointment of Mgr Giglio who was Papal Nuncio in Egypt was announced before the pope's planned visit Egypt this February 24-26.

But the league between the Vatican and the Muslim Arabs is much deeper than that.  Consider, for example, what the Catechism of the Catholic Church (see http://users.cyberone.com.au/myers/tmf.html ) says about Islam in #841:

"The Church's relationship with the Muslims. 'The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.'"

Consider as well how the Pope has on multiple occasions kissed the Koran, as on this occasion with an Iraqi cleric:

In fact, in 1798 when French revolutionaries stormed into the Vatican, they found this inscription from the Muslim Koran in Arabic on the Pope’s seat, the actual “Chair of St. Peter”:

"There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet."
