PROPOSED METHOD OF ORGANIZING THE COUNTY CITIZENS MILITIA EFFORT

Michigan, like many other States, already has a statewide 2A effort and Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/MI2ACounties/), which in turn is divided by County (e.g., Ottawa County https://www.facebook.com/groups/MI2AOttwaw/).  Here is the proposed method of organizing the county:

1.       Divide the County into regions, the regions into sectors, and the sectors into blocks.

2.       Seek to obtain volunteer leaders in each of the regions, sectors and blocks.  (It is possible for a person to be a sector and block leader as well as a region leader.)

3.       The volunteer leaders seek to obtain signatures from citizens (18 years and older) of the County, calling upon the County Commission to pass a resolution declaring the County as a “Second Amendment Sanctuary”.

4.       At the same time the volunteer leaders can enlist County citizens’ militia volunteers, who will form the County’s citizens’ militia, consistent with the principles of the Articles of Confederation* (America’s founding constitution) and 2A (which sought to maintain the Articles’ gun rights and principles). The members of the County citizens’ militia will elect a leader from among themselves, and the militia will report to the County Commission.  The County citizens’ militia will seek to obtain official recognition from the County Commission.

5.       There will thus be a network of citizens within the County seeking to uphold gun rights and other historic American liberties, and the County citizens’ militia can eventually be part of a State citizens’ militia.

*The Articles of Confederation read thus: “... every State shall always keep up a well-regulated and disciplined militia, sufficiently armed and accoutered, and shall provide and constantly have ready for use, in public stores, a due number of field pieces and tents, and a proper quantity of arms, ammunition and camp equipage.”

Why should the 2A effort also include a restoration of well-armed citizens’ militias for counties and States?

Thus we see that the experiences of the Revolutionary War confirmed in the minds of the Founders the teachings of the Whigs: An armed citizenry was both a check on domestic tyranny and the most desirable form of national defense. It was for the security of a free state from these perils that the Founders sought the protection of a well-regulated militia…"the most important single fact about the Revolution, and which alone made a protest and a fight to defend their liberties possible—the almost universal ownership of firearms, expertise in their usage, and membership in a citizen’s militia, which characterized the American scene." - https://www.independent.org/news/article.asp?id=1495

All of this is part of Step #1 to meet the challenges which face the nation seeking to thwart the liberal Democrat open borders, gun-confiscating socialist agenda.
